O.K. I ve removed the ACME screw the table and the nut from my Bridgeport mill. The reason is that the X-axis has about .030 or more freeplay before engaging and moving the table (near the center of travel where most work is done). Measuring as carefully as I can the ACME screw threads seem to be about .010 narrower in the middle sweetspot.
